About the Port of Baltimore

Beauty and history await you as you arrive in the Port of Baltimore. Baltimore's World Trade Center, the world's tallest pentagonal building, stands out and is just a short walk away where you can see panoramic views of the Inner Harbor, the city and beyond to Chesapeake Bay. Two lighthouses are also close by and are part of the Historic Ships in Baltimore. Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse is the oldest "screw pile" lighthouse on the Chesapeake and the Lightship Chesapeake (yes, a lighthouse on a ship!) is anchored nearby. Other ships include the USS Constellation, a sailing sloop built in the 1800's; USCGC Taney, the last ship left floating after the attack on Pearl Harbor and the USS Torsk, a submarine with over 10,000 dives! The city of Baltimore also played a big role in the War of 1812 and has many special events scheduled for this, the bicentennial year of that war. The history of not only Baltimore, but of our nation, are on display nearly everywhere you look.

Walking around the Inner Harbor; you will also see the Baltimore Area Visitors Center, the National Aquarium in Baltimore, the American Visionary Art Museum and the Maryland Science Center.

As easy as it is to view all of these magnificent attractions, it is even easier to embark upon your trip of a lifetime aboard one of the luxury ships operated by Royal Caribbean International and Carnival Cruise Lines. Over one hundred cruises are offered year round to such popular destinations as Bermuda, Bahamas, Eastern Caribbean and Canada/New England. Their state of the art terminal is an architectural wonder and awaiting your visit as you transition from vacation dreamer to vacation traveler. The Port of Baltimore is ready to set sail, are you?
